Ila Rondeau*

Violist Ila Rondeau holds a Bachelor of Music and Professional Studies Certificate from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She studied with Mark Jackobs and worked extensively with Peter Salaff and the Cavani String Quartet. She is a member of the New Orleans based Louisiana Philharmonic and the New Orleans based chamber ensemble Musaica. 

Ila teaches for the University of New Orleans and is a frequent performer for the Trinity Artist Series ‘Bach Around the Clock’. She has been on the faculty at the Allegheny Summer Music Festival, the International Youth Summer Music Festival, and the Upper Valley Summer Music Festival in Vermont. 

A former principal violist with the Lima Symphony Orchestra in Ohio, she was the violist for the Eastern String Quartet, resident quartet at Heidelberg College, and the Odin String Quartet, based in Cleveland, Ohio. A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ila started playing viola in the public school music program in Indianapolis at the age of ten.
