Tickets are on sale now for Delta Festival Ballet’s 44th production of The Nutcracker with performances on December 20th at 6:00pm and 21nst at 2:00pm at Mahalia Jackson Theater, accompanied by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 1981, Delta’s exquisite production of The Nutcracker has delighted local audiences of all ages. This holiday treat is helmed by Artistic Director, Joseph Giacobbe and accompanied by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. With international guest stars including Sarah Lane (American Ballet Theatre) and Chun Wai Chan (New York City Ballet), outstanding local professionals and a youth corps of young dancers from the Greater New Orleans Area, Delta Festival Ballet's The Nutcracker is THE show to see this holiday season.
The long-standing association with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra began in 1976 when Delta Festival Ballet and the Orchestra (at that time the New Orleans Philharmonic Symphony) collaborated to produce and present the full-length Sleeping Beauty ballet. The relationship has continued, and each December Delta’s presentation of the Nutcracker is accompanied by the LPO.
