From Music Director
Matthew Kraemer

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Louisiana Philharmonic’s 2025-26 Season. From Bach, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky to Ellington, Gershwin, and Price, our classical programming offers something for every musical taste. We open our season with Verdi’s colossal Requiem. American music plays an important fixture, with world premieres by James Lee III and Jay Weigel, in addition to performances of living composers Carlos Simon, Stacy Garrop, Miguel del Aguila, and Valerie Coleman.

The LPO commemorates the 50th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich’s death in November with a mini festival celebrating several of his symphonic and chamber works. Our incredibly talented musicians take center stage, as Hannah Yim, Austin Richardson, Shaquille Southwell, and Aaron Smith are all featured soloists throughout the season. Additionally, our popular chamber orchestra series continues with beloved and unfamiliar works spanning over 300 years of music.

The LPO continues to grow in exciting and innovative ways. Our continued success would not be possible without the dedication of so many people, including our musicians, board, and most importantly you, our devoted patrons. If you are not already a member of the LPO family, I encourage you to subscribe today and let us fill your hearts with some of the greatest music ever written.

Welcome to our 2025-26 Season!
