The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra's Market Nights series opens with Flagboy Giz. He is a Wild Tchoupitoulas Black Masking Indian bringing New Orleans culture to the orchestral stage. His music fuses West African rhythms, funk, brass, hip-hop, and bounce with the chants and traditions passed down through generations of Mardi Gras Indian culture.
Giz's breakout single "We Outside" topped a million YouTube views before the NFL licensed it for Super Bowl 59, carrying the sound to a national audience. He has performed at Essence Festival, Jazz Fest, and French Quarter Festival, and in 2024 represented the Louisiana/Memphis Chapter of the Recording Academy at the GRAMMY Awards.
