From the hopeful vision of Ellington’s New World A-Comin’ and the exuberant rhythms of Bernstein’s On the Town, to the innovative voice of Karena Ingram’s RAINN and the timeless brilliance of Gershwin’s An American in Paris, this program is a vibrant celebration of American musical expression. Highlighting the evening is the world premiere of James Lee III’s Concerto in A, a bold new work honoring the centennial of Gershwin’s Concerto in F, first premiered in December 1925. Immerse yourself in a rich tapestry of orchestral grandeur, iconic melodies, and cultural spirit at the heart of American music.

Karena Ingram’s RAINN is presented this evening as part of The League of American Orchestras’ Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Orchestral Commissions Program.
