Trombonist Matthew Wright joined the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in 2011. He has performed and recorded with numerous orchestras, big bands, and chamber ensembles from Carnegie Hall to Birdland, and Beijing to New Orleans. He was in the first horn section to play with the band Cake. He was a soloist with the the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, but he was dressed as Santa Claus. His primary teachers are Jeannie Little, Matthew Vaughn, Per Brevig, Steve Norrell, and Scott Hartman.
