Violist and composer Patrick Préjean was born in Lafayette, Louisiana where he began his music studies at the Acadiana Conservatory of Music. In 2014, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio to attend the Cleveland Institute of Music and Cleveland State University, where he studied with Stanley Konopka and Laura Shuster.
As a performer, Préjean has held positions with Firelands Symphony Orchestra, BlueWater Chamber Orchestra, CityMusic Cleveland, and the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra. In 2024, he was the Viola Fellow for the Classical Tahoe Festival Orchestra.
As a composer, he has premiered his works (String Quintet, The Aftermath of Hvide Sande, and Duo for Violin and Viola) in both Denmark and Germany as both performer and composer as Hvide Sande Masterclass, French Connection Academy, and Fiestravaganza International Music Academy.
When he is not performing or composing, Préjean enjoys learning languages (French and Danish), and both historical and olympic fencing.
