Sarah Yen is a private violin teacher and violinist with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. She previously taught at the Loyola University Music Prep Program from 1998-2008, where she maintained a violin studio of 4-7 students, aged 5-17. She has also had a home studio for several years.
Ms. Yen has served as the violin coach for the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra Summer Camps (summers 2001, 02, 03, 06), working with the younger group of children who were aged 7-12. She has completed Suzuki teacher training through Book 3, but prefers to use both the Suzuki method and traditional repertoire with her students.
Sarah graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.M. in Violin performance, and from Michigan State University, with honors, with an M. M. in Violin performance. She has participated in such music festivals as the Britt Festival, National Repertory Orchestra, and the National Orchestral Institute.
