JOHN TAVENER: The Protecting Veil
Intermission
DAWN AVERY: Grandmother Moon
VALERIE COLEMAN: Tracing Visions
DURATION: Approximately 120 minutes, including intermission.
Experience an evening of music that moves between the spiritual, the natural, and the deeply personal. John Tavener's The Protecting Veil opens the program with music of striking beauty and spiritual depth, unfolding in waves of sound that feel both intimate and immense. After intermission, Dawn Avery's Grandmother Moon turns toward the natural world, followed by Valerie Coleman's Tracing Visions, a work that explores memory, movement, and the ways we carry the past with us. Performed entirely by strings, this program brings together three distinctive voices for an evening that is atmospheric and reflective.
